Where Experience, Care,
and Purpose Come Together
Choosing a senior living community is about more than amenities or location—it’s about trust. At Buckner, decades of experience, faith-based values, and a commitment to thoughtful care come together to create communities where residents feel supported, respected, and confident in the choices they’re making for today and the future.
Serving Texas
Seniors Since 1951
For generations, Buckner has served senior adults with integrity and distinction. As a mission-driven nonprofit organization, Buckner is guided by purpose rather than profit, allowing decisions to be made with long-term well-being, stability, and quality of care in mind. That experience brings confidence to residents and peace of mind to their families.
From The Residents
"If I have to choose the one thing I enjoy most about BRC San Angelo, it is simply that it is a Community. We have an outstanding cafe, beautiful chapel, a number of Bible classes, services, prayer meetings, etc, a myriad of available activities, as well as outside trips with provided transport to shopping, special events and of course medical appointments. Too many services to mention and an outstanding, proficient and friendly staff."

"It’s a great place to live. We help each, check on each other, join others for potlucks or meals at Main street cafe, play games, have musical entertainment, etc. We have medical support from our nurse practitioner all the way to skilled nursing. There are many more extras here to support our needs and many things to do and to provide for our interest and our entertainment."

"I most enjoy being a part of a place where there are caring, friendly individuals. The staff is concerned about each resident, and strives to make sure that everyone is cared for in a respectful manner."

"I tell others how fortunate we are to live in a wonderful BRC community filled with many other people about our age.The Cafe is marvelous with good cooking and helpers. The Chapel is wonderful and I love hearing the bells during the day. I also enjoy sitting on a bench swing set in our small park area. That is where I hear the chapel bells the best."

What makes
Buckner Different?
We're a nonprofit senior living provider
As a nonprofit senior living provider you can be sure your financial investment is re-invested to preserve the longevity and sustainability of your community instead of meeting a shareholder’s bottom line objective. Residents also have peace of mind knowing that we are committed to serving and caring for those in our community for life. Buckner’s Senior Care and Assistance fund ensures residents will never be asked to leave due to a genuine inability to pay or for those who outlive their resources.
We take a long-term approach to senior living
Our unmatched approach to senior living prioritizes consistency, thoughtful planning, and continuity of care. Communities are designed to adapt and serve as needs change, helping reduce disruption and stress while preserving familiarity and stability.
We offer a balance of stability and independence to residents and members
Our communities provide residents and members the ease of a maintenance-free lifestyle with the added benefit of our signature hospitality and service. We’re best known for providing residents and members with a deep sense of community, purpose, and connection while prioritizing independence and freedom of choice in daily living through lifestyle and wellness programming, a diverse culinary experience, and a range of living accommodations.
Promises made and promises kept
Buckner’s promises. are backed by generations of faithful stewardship and financial stability. With eight communities across Texas, Buckner has a long history of serving seniors. Buckner was founded in 1879 and the first Buckner senior living community opened in 1954. However, the Buckner mission to serve seniors dates back to the early days of the ministry when aging widows lived at the Buckner Orphans Home and helped care for the children. Organizations do not last for more than 145 years unless they are operated wisely. Never in the history of Buckner has a program, location, or ministry been allowed to fail.
